MONOCHROME

MONOCHROME Roblox: full escape guide

You wake up in a sealed room. To get out you need four keys and one four-digit code, pulled out of a corridor network that is built to look the same in every direction — while something hunts you.

Read this before any other guide. Key locations and the elevator code are not fixed.

Any guide that hands you one magic number is telling you about their run, not yours. What actually transfers between runs is the search order, the landmarks, and knowing which furniture types can hold a key.

Your run

Keys and the code are different every run, so this tracks yours. Saved in your browser only.

Keys delivered

Tap a key once you have carried it to the lock panel.

Elevator code (this run)

Write it down the moment you see it on the block. Re-walking the maze to re-read it is the most common time sink.

Corridors repeat, so the hard part is remembering where you have already been. Name rooms by their landmark — "stairs junction", "closet corner", "double dresser".

    Nothing logged yet.

    The escape, step by step

    1. Open the "DO NOT ENTER" doorway confirmed

The run begins with the exit sealed. Pry the planks off the boarded "DO NOT ENTER" door to open the way down. Hold E to interact.

    2. Go down the stairs into the corridor network confirmed

Below is a network of abandoned corridors that look deliberately similar to each other. This is where most players get lost — not because the map is huge, but because it is repetitive.

    3. Search furniture for four keys confirmed

Keys are found by searching furniture — dressers and drawers — rather than lying in the open. Open every drawer you pass. Do not assume a room is empty because the first dresser was.

    4. Read the four-digit code off a block in the maze reported

The elevator code is physically printed on a block in the maze area. You have to read it in your own run. Write it down the moment you see it — backtracking to re-read it costs more than it sounds.

    5. Carry each key back to the lock panel confirmed

The deadbolt panel sits beside the elevator. Each key you deliver turns one indicator light green. Four lights must be green before the elevator will respond.

    6. Enter the code and press Open Elevator confirmed

With all four lights green, punch the four-digit number into the keypad and press Open Elevator to escape.

Why the code you found online probably does not work

Search for the MONOCHROME elevator code and you will find confident, specific numbers. The problem is that they disagree with each other, and the guides that published them have already had to walk them back.

The four-digit elevator code changes between runs and/or game updates.confirmedPublished walkthroughs list conflicting values (5343 and 0849). A guide dedicated an entire article to asking whether 5343 still works after an update. A single universal number cannot be correct for every player.
Keys are not tied to permanently fixed rooms.reportedCommunity wikis state that permanent individual key rooms are not confirmed, and describe keys as found by searching basement furniture rather than at set coordinates.
The code is printed on a block inside the maze area and must be read in your own run.reportedMultiple walkthroughs describe reading a four-digit number physically printed on a block, rather than receiving it from a menu or fixed location.

This is why this site does not print a number at the top of the page. What carries over between runs is method: where to look, what furniture can hold a key, and how to navigate corridors that are designed to disorient you. How to find your own code →

    Surviving long enough to finish

    Hide in closets

Press E to hide inside a closet when the monster is nearby. Plan your route so you are never far from one.

    Do not run randomly

Corridors are built to look alike. Random sprinting burns time and puts you in unsearched territory with no exit plan. Move between known landmarks instead.

    Press E on everything

Interaction is a single key. If something looks like it opens, it probably does.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the MONOCHROME elevator code?

There is no single code that works for everyone. Published guides list conflicting numbers (5343 and 0849 both circulate), and at least one guide has had to ask whether the older number still works after an update. The code is printed on a block inside the maze and has to be read during your own run.

    Where are the four keys?

Community wikis state that permanent individual key rooms are not confirmed. Keys are found by searching furniture — dressers and drawers — in the corridor network below the boarded door. What helps is a systematic search order, not a list of coordinates.

How many keys do I need?

Four. Each one delivered to the lock panel beside the elevator turns one indicator light green. All four must be green before the keypad will open the elevator.

How do I survive the monster?

Press E to hide inside closets when it is close. Because the corridors look alike, the practical defence is route knowledge — always know where your nearest closet and nearest staircase are.

    Is MONOCHROME finished?

No. The creator (paramodal) describes it as early development with a second part in the works, and the game was last updated on 2026-09-14. Expect mechanics — including the code — to change between updates.
