CHAPTER 03 / UNLOCK THE EXIT

MONOCHROME Roblox elevator code

Short answer: nobody can give you the number. Not this site, not the guide ranking above it, not an AI summary. Here is the evidence, and what to do instead.

IN A HURRY?

Read the block in your own run. Save all four digits. Deliver all four keys.

Where the code actually comes from

Multiple walkthroughs describe the same mechanism: the four-digit number is physically printed on a block inside the maze area. You do not receive it from a menu, a chat message or a fixed plaque by the elevator. You have to walk far enough into the corridor network to see it with your own eyes, in your own run.

That single fact is what makes every "the code is 5343" headline unreliable. If the number were global and permanent, a guide would not need to hedge about updates — and two guides would not be publishing different digits.

The moment you see it, write it down. The most common way players lose a finished run is reading the block, continuing to explore, getting chased, and then being unsure whether the third digit was a 3 or an 8. Use the field below — it stays in your browser.

Tap a key once you have carried it to the lock panel.

Elevator code (this run)

Write it down the moment you see it on the block. Re-walking the maze to re-read it is the most common time sink.

Rooms searched

0/0

Corridors repeat, so the hard part is remembering where you have already been. Name rooms by their landmark — "stairs junction", "closet corner", "double dresser".

    Nothing logged yet.

    Entering it correctly

The code alone does not open anything. The sequence is:

    1. Deliver all four keys first

Each key carried to the lock panel beside the elevator turns one indicator light green.

    2. Check that all four lights are green

The keypad will not finish the job while a deadbolt is still locked.

    3. Punch in the four digits, then press Open Elevator

If nothing happens, the usual cause is a missing key, not a wrong code.

If the code does not work

Before assuming you misread it, check the lights. A run where three of four deadbolts are open looks identical at the keypad to a run with a wrong code — and the missing key is by far the more common of the two. After that, re-check digits you could have misread: 3 and 8, 0 and 6, 1 and 7.

The published codes contradict each other

Two different four-digit codes circulate widely in MONOCHROME walkthroughs: 5343 and 0849. They cannot both be universal. One published guide went as far as writing a separate article asking whether 5343 still works after a game update — which tells you the author themselves stopped trusting it.

MONOCHROME is still in active development. The creator, paramodal, describes it as early development with a second part in the works, and the game was last updated on 2026-09-14. Mechanics that a guide verified in early September are not guaranteed to hold now.
